Dear Jaguar Parents/Guardians:
Drop Off and Pick Up of Students
Help us keep student safety a priority. During drop off and pickup times, please drive slowly and follow the rules of the parking lot. If you are using the drop-off / pick-up loop, keep in mind that we have 3 lanes. The inside and outside lanes allow for cars to stop. If you are in the MIDDLE LANE, your car must not stop or park. In the morning, students should only be dropped off by the curb using the inside lane. All pedestrians must use the monitored crosswalk in our parking lot.
Thank you for everyone’s patience especially during our after school pick-up. For your information, other alternatives to using the loop include:
The Common Core Standards (or the Common Core State Standards)
The Common Core State Standards (CCSS) were developed through a state-led national initiative to establish consistent and clear education standards for English language arts and mathematics that would better prepare American students for success in college, career, and the competitive global economy.
The SRVUSD has developed a two year plan to fully prepare all staff implementation of the Common Core Standards by the 2014-2015 school year. (To view the plan Click here) (click here to view a California Common Core state standards overview)
At Iron Horse Middle School, you will see a continued instructional shift away from the current CA Content Standards, utilizing the CCSS to drive our teaching and learning. Our teachers are working hard through various professional development opportunities to fully integrate the CCSS by the 2014-2015 school year. For more information on the CCSS for parents, click this link.
Thank you for your continued support of the Iron Horse Middle School community.
