Upcoming CAASPP Testing Info

**IMPORTANT UPDATE: On May 2-5, 9 & 10 we are having a modified bell schedule which affects start times for certain grade levels. We understand this can be an inconvenience, therefore we are offering a study hall workshop from 8:15-9:45am in the MPR during those days.  Space is limited. If you have any questions please email our Assistant Principal, Gatee Esmat

gesmat@srvusd.net

Please click here to sign up for morning Study Hall.

Your students will be taking the annual state testing called California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP). This includes computer adaptive tests in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics in Grades 6-8 as well as the remaining paper-based tests for Science in Grade 8 only. It is very important that you encourage students to do their best when taking these tests. These test results help us understand what knowledge, skills, and processes students have mastered and which ones they may still need to learn. These scores can allow parents and teachers to monitor student progress each year and help students reach and achieve their highest academic potential.

During the test, students will use earphones to listen to videos and audio items. They will be allowed to bring their  earbuds or earphones as they may be most comfortable using their own.

Here is our school’s testing schedule:

  • April 18-29: Grades 6-8 ELA Computer Adaptive Tests and Performance Tasks
  • May 2-13: Grades 6-8 Math Computer Adaptive Tests and Performance Tasks Please note that there is a modified bell schedule effecting start times during these days. Depending on grade levels, students will be starting school at a later time. Please review the attached schedule carefully and prepare in advance.  Click here for the MODIFIED BELL SCHEDULE
  • April 18- May 13 Grade 6-8 California Alternate Assessment ELA and Mathematics
  • May 9:  Grade 8 Science Paper-Pencil Test

On behalf of the school community, thank you for making it a priority to leave a little earlier and exercising safe driving habits! I continue to encourage our families to participate in carpools to help alleviate traffic. This is a great practice anytime! As an incentive, we are raffling off $25 gas gift cards on a monthly basis. To be entered, please register as a carpool participant using the linked Google Form below.

CAASPP Test Info

Starting next week, students will be taking the CAASPP, the new online state assessment.  Students will need headphones/ear buds for the test.  Many students prefer to use their own headphones/ear buds for comfort reasons, therefore we are encouraging students to bring their own to school. Please note that the school will not be responsible for any damaged or lost headphones, so please do not have your students bring expensive headphones to school.  If any student is without, we will provide them with headphones. If you have any questions, please contact Gatee Esmat at gesmat@srvusd.net
