NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS Mix It Up @ Lunch Day Mix
It Up @ Lunch Day
is a national movement. It’s a
day of action when teachers and students try to break through the social
boundaries in their schools. On Tuesday,
November 10th, join students in thousands of schools as they
sit with someone new at lunch, and break down the walls. Students will be “sorted” when they
get to the MPR at lunch. Prizes
will be awarded to randomly picked participating students. There will be Advisory activities on
Tuesday and Thursday this week to support this activity. Reflections Showcase Please
join us in appreciating participating students’ artwork throughout the San
Ramon Valley, to be presented in the 2009-2010 Reflections Showcase. This will take place on Monday,
November 16th from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Iron Horse Middle
School. The theme, “Beauty is….”
is sponsored by The San Ramon Valley Council of PTAs. Free Hip Hop Clinic Come be
part of a “dance crew” at this fun event! Boys & Girls ages 11 and up. No experience necessary. Taught by La Tonya Watts renowned choreographer &
Valley Hip Hop instructor/team coach.
This event will take place on Friday, December 4th from 5:00-7:00
p.m. at 2411 Old Crow Canyon Rd. Suite Q in San Ramon. Free raffle ticket to all who attend. Wear anything funky (baggie jeans, sweats, t-shirt,
shorts, and athletic shoes. Call

is open from October 10th through November 15th. Sessions #1 and #2 Tryouts will be
held at Bollinger Elementary School.
Tryouts will be held rain or shine! In the event one or more dates are cancelled, make-ups

Lacrosse Season Registration
is open now through December 1st for 2010 Lacrosse Season. Boys and Girls ages 6-14 are invited
to check out the fastest growing team sport in the US today. Lacrosse is a unique, fast-paced,
intense game that highlights coordination, agility, endurance, and
teamwork. To learn more about

THIS WEEK AND UPCOMING EVENTS - Science Fair Club will meet again on Tuesday
November 17th from
3-4:00 pm in the Iron Horse Library and on the first & third Tuesdays
of each month. The Tri-Valley Science & Engineering Fairis scheduled for
March 30-April 2. All 7th
& 8th graders are welcome. - Computer Club will meet again on Tuesday,
November 17th in
PT-11 from 2:45-3:45 PM.. Computer Club meets every other Tuesday. Check Schoolloops for details. Teen Activity Group:
Quest
(formerly TAG) is a weekly teen support group offered at Iron
Horse. The group meets on
Thursdays from 3:00-4:00 p.m. in Room 200 and is open to
all students. This group is free to participate. During the group,
participants will discuss current issues, engage in recreational activities
and games and have refreshments. The groups are co-led by a Recreation Leader
and the Youth Resource Officer. Quest has started. Check it out! After-School Study Club: Study
Club will meet Tuesday, 11/10 in PT-14
and Thursday, 11/12 in PT-5 from
3:00-3:45. Students should come prepared with materials to work,
study, or read quietly. |

NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS (Continued) Fastpitch Softball Would
you like to play Fastpitch Softball?
SRVGAL (San Ramon Girls Athletic League) is now open for
registration. Girls are placed
in grade-based divisions.
Minimum player age is 5 yrs old by 12/13/09. There are 3 levels of play: recreational, developmental and competitive. Register on-line at www.srvgal.org. Flyers available in main office. Morning
Study Hall Drop-Ins The
Morning Study Hall Drop-Ins will once again be available in the mornings from
7:40-8:10 a.m., Mondays-Thursdays.
This will begin after Conferences. It is a place to quietly finish up
homework or study. Watch for
the announcements in the bulletin and postings in the Counseling Office

Chamber Singers A
holiday concert featuring the Danville Girls Chorus & San Ramon Valley
High School Chamber Singers will be performing on Thursday, December 10 at
