Iron Horse MS Spelling Bee We are looking for two parent volunteers to help with our school Spelling Bee to be held on February 3^rd. Anyone interested, please contact Mrs. Keller at ckeller@srvusd.net. Thanks! 2010 Student Art Contest The Dublin/San Ramon Women’s Club sponsors this event. The contest is open to all students in the cities of Dublin & San Ramon. The artwork and photography must be completed as an individual effort, and should be mounted (poster board is ok). Entries need to be in the School Office NO LATER THAN 12 NOON on Thursday, February 4^th. Flyers with complete information are available in the main office. She’s All That (at California High School) This is an annual conference for middle school girls – focused on their needs, issues, concerns, and interests. Hosted by our local Soroptimist, this is an adult lead conference for girls. The event is Saturday, February 6^th at California High School. Pre-registration is required. Youth-2-Youth This is an annual conference for middle school boys & girls! The Y2Y Conference is staffed by 100 local high school students who have been trained to facilitate small groups (family groups) of 8-12 students. This event is Saturday March 13^th. We are offering a 2-Hour Clinic on Friday, February 19^th from 6-9:00 p.m. Fees are $10 pre-registered; $15 at the door. THIS WEEK AND UPCOMING EVENTS - Science Fair Club will meet again on Tuesday February 2^nd from 3-4:00 pm in the Iron Horse Library and on the first & third Tuesdays of each month. The Tri-Valley Science & Engineering Fairis scheduled for March 30-April 2. All 7^th & 8^th graders are welcome. - Computer Club will meet again on Tuesday, February 9^th in PT-11 from 2:45-3:45 PM.. Computer Club meets every other Tuesday. Check Schoolloops for details. Teen Activity Group: Quest (formerly TAG) is a weekly teen support group offered at Iron Horse. The group meets on Thursdays from 3:00-4:00 p.m. in Room 200 and is open to all students. This group is free to participate. During the group, participants will discuss current issues, engage in recreational activities and games and have refreshments. The groups are co-led by a Recreation Leader and the Youth Resource Officer. Quest has started. Check it out! After-School Study Club: Study Club will meet Tuesday, 2/2 in PT-14 and Thursday, 2/4 in PT-5 from 3:00-3:45. Students should come prepared with materials to work, study, or read quietly

NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS (Continued) San Roman Soccer Club The San Ramon Soccer Club invites you to Warm Ups, Registration & Competitive Try-Outs! Registration begins on Monday, March 1^st on-line @ www.SANRAMONSOCCER.org. You can sign up for Winter Warm Ups starting January 4^th (they are free) and Try-Outs begin February 1^st. This is for ages 4-18 (born 8/1/08 – 7/31/91). Check the web-site for complete try-out schedules. Practices will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and there will be 2 sessions, an early one at 3-4:00 and a late one at 4-5:00. The season ends in April. Wrestlers may attend both practices or just one.
