As stated by the California Department of Education, the purpose of the Technology Education program is a broad-based exploratory experience designed for both boys and girls. It acquaints students with technology using hands on experiences while reinforcing the academic core. The activities in the Technology classroom are designed to:
• Emphasize the transferability of knowledge and skills from one discipline
to another
• Develop problem solving skills and critical thinking skills
• Become Independent thinkers
• Learn about the daily effects of technology on their lives
• Become adaptable to the changing world around them
• Start thinking about a career
• Develop a strong work ethic
